Artist's Statement (GERMAN VERSION)
To make a piece of jewellery is a sensitive and mostly quiet process - at least for me.
Since I started my apprenticeship as a jeweller this process has changed significantly. To be more precise, it has changed from the head to the heart - meaning that instead of planning and organising how to create a piece, I now try to let my emotions, intuitions and feelings speak and follow.
Part of the working process is feeling (the shape), part is seeing (to examine the outline against the light). During the working process it is important to discover the piece with closed eyes.
To make a piece of jewellery is a sensitive process which continues in wearing it.
So for example all my rings have the comfort fit (round, not flat inside) to make sure that it's comfortable and less sweaty to wear.
While designing my jewellery nature is a big influence. In nature, you will always find the right proportions, colours and dimensions.
